Like wow. I mentioned one anniversary back early in the history of this blog (entry for 1 February 2005?). I didn't intend to have anniversaries hold any special or programmatic place in it. But they keep fucking happening. So weird. A scientist would say: Well, there are 365 days per calendar year, so even a modest list of events with accompanying calendar dates would contain multiple items that fall on the same calendar date. Well, whateverski. Annywhoo.

This morning my paper told me that D.C. on Nichol in N.B. is likely to be voted shut after the fall semester. But that's not the anniversary. The anniversary for me is that the news broke, and the savedou---sscoll---.org website was opened, on 14 July 2005. For anniversary tie-ins, see my public lj entry for that date.

Kind of an elegiac moment. I haven't been there since the last week in May/first week in June, though Trip may want to meet out there in the fall -- we'll see.

I'll add to this Sunday public entry later today. Just wanted to stick this up for now in order to keep any backlog of lj stuff from building up.

A week ago this morning I heard Maroon 5 blaring in the home supplies chain store and blogged the resultant cerebration. A week later to the hour I see why they are on radio round here these days: not the return of the summer season when "This Love" was all over the media, but because they are touring in the area. They're in A.C. this coming Saturday, according to the local entertainment page. Additional "This Love" info to add to last Sunday's blog entry: that song was #1 simultaneously on MTV, VH1, and "Top 40" (in the US, that probably means Billboard??). It was also the first song ever certified as a platinum-selling internet download. Okay!

Un peu encore en plus, plus tard. (Silly fractured french.)

Forgot to mention here: Today is exactly one year since I left B-----.
